Jesus is sleeping in a boat during a storm. The disciples wake him and question His compassion. “Don’t you care if we drown?” As soon as life gets stormy, we want to question the character and compassion of God. But in Mark 4:40 Jesus responds to them, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” Our problem with God is we know He can stop the storm. But God is not always about stopping the storm; He is more interested in making fearless, tough people who trust Him in the storm—even while He is sleeping.
