Leviticus 26 is the chapter about blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience. What strikes me is that the curses for disobedience were designed not to punish them, but to get them to return to a life of blessing. Each level of punishment for disobedience grew in intensity in order to get them back to a place God could bless them. E. Stanley Jones rightly taught that God has written into the universe the best way to live. Either we live according to it and the universe works with us or we don’t and the universe works against us.
